Dear Parents,

We are excited to share what your children have been learning and experiencing in Children’s Worship and Kids Connect during January and February!

Children’s Worship (Prekindergarten – Elementary)

In January, we began by exploring the story of the Epiphany and the Wise Men, learning interesting facts and reading Humphrey’s First Christmas. The children discussed how Jesus was revealed to the world.

We then talked about baptism and what it means to be part of God’s family, emphasizing that we are stronger together as a church community. Following that, the children learned about being cheerful givers through the story of Jesus sharing two fish and five loaves to feed a crowd. Then, we focused on Jesus as a loving friend and explored his special relationships with his disciples.

IAs we approach the end of February, we will begin learning about the Lord’s Prayer, starting with the first lines: “Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.” The children will reflect on the holiness of God’s name and ways we can honor Him every day.

Kids Connect (3rd – 5th Grades)

At the start of the year, our older children created a class covenant centered on respect:

  1. Respect ourselves by making wise choices and practicing self-control.
  2. Respect others by using kind words and forgiving others.
  3. Respect property by cleaning up after ourselves and putting things away.

This covenant has guided our time together as we build a positive and supportive community.

In February, we celebrated Super Bowl Sunday with a Puppy Bowl party, where the kids had fun watching the Puppy Bowl together as well as making some puppy related crafts. Then, from February 13–15, our 3rd–5th graders joined a Winter Retreat at John Knox Camp alongside four other Methodist churches in the area. The retreat was filled with games, activities, team-building, and spiritual growth. The children had an absolute blast and made many new friends!

We are so proud of how your children are growing in faith, friendship, and responsibility. Thank you for supporting them on this exciting journey!

With Blessings,
